A major store in the suburbs that doesn't have a bathroom... Really? Personnel was nice though. And EMS is great in general.
Cheers,
Andrew
Not a single person acknowledged my family or me the entire time we were in the store. I tried to try on some shorts, but the fitting room was locked and no one would help me to open it. Everyone working, except the poor girl at the register, was clearly unhappy to be there and the man with the beard and nose ring was trying so hard to be cool that he could hardly function. When I asked the too cool for school bearded guy if they had a restroom I could use he was clearly p***ed that I had the nerve to approach him at all. The customer service at this EMS used to be phenomenal, but sadly I don't particularly want to shop there again.
I appreciate that EMS employees here want to find you the right gear, even if it means purchasing from another store or company.
Due to this experience I'm done with this store. I recommend going right accross the street to LL Bean. They have the same stuff and actually stand behind what they sell, unlike this place. Dont waste your time with a store that won't stand behind what they sell.
I have shopped at this store a lot lately. Spent a lot of money here too. Last week I purchased a set of Black Diamond hiking polls which were fairly expensive ($140). Took them out and the poll bent on me first time out. I took them back to the store to try and return them as this poll should not have bent in snow. I had my receipt in hand and talked with the store manager Ken Bouville (spelling could be off their but you get the hint). He said he would not take them back or refund me for this product. He also told me I must have wedged them between rocks and thats how they bent. I didnt realize he was hiking with me last week and saw what happened? Impressive! Amazing that this guy could see into the past in a place where he wasn't and tell me what happened.
I was in buying backpacking gear today. Ken spent FOREVER with me and my ten year old son making sure things were properly fitted and that we had the essentials for our trips. He even showed us how to operate our stove and explained the water filtration system incredibly clearly. He gave us a ton of tips for ways to make setting up and packing more efficient and comfortable. We had to order my pack and he said they would still fit my pack to me properly when it comes in the mail. Very very impressed! Thanks again, Ken!
